Foster’s wanted to launch a green beer to the Cascade stable of beers. Landor was involved with the brand strategy, naming and tone of voice, through to packaging and point of sale. When designing the packaging, the objective was to, where possible, minimise the carbon footprint. For instance two-colour biodegradable vegetable inks were used in order to reduce the amount of ink, which also adds to the raw and natural design style of the packaging. Wherever possible materials were selected based on their recycled content, including 100 percent recycled stock used on the point of sale materials and cartons.
