Pip came to me with 200 text messages she’d compiled with the idea of publishing them. She wanted to give them the permanence that personal messages like postcards and letters inherently have, because these were messages people had saved in their inboxes.

Rather than emulate the technology of mobiles in the design, we went the opposite direction, and I created a classic yet simple hierarchy for the messages, their senders, recipients, and other details. It became a cherished little book that’s instantly engrossing.
